Please be advised of the following updates:
Beer Markup – applicable to all beer products
The Ontario government has made regulatory amendments which further pause the
indexation of beer basic tax rates.
As a result, the indexation of beer tax rates previously scheduled to take place on December 1, 2020 will be deferred to March 1, 2022, with beer basic tax to be subject to annual indexation thereafter.
The government has directed LCBO to similarly pause the indexation of beer markup rates scheduled for December 1. Current markup rates will continue to apply unchanged until further notice. As new developments and timelines are finalized, we will
communicate these decisions to allow for re-quoting if necessary.
This change does not affect the indexation of beer cost of service scheduled to take place on March 1, 2021.
