As you know, AGCO issues licences that allow delivery service providers to deliver liquor to customers for a fee – from the LCBO as well as retailers and restaurants licensed by AGCO. While not referencing LCBO directly, a few providers have been facilitating on-demand delivery of beverage alcohol products for some time now, offering inventory from select stores.
To further support customer convenience and choice, the LCBO has opened a time-limited pilot program for On-Demand Delivery Service companies in the Ontario marketplace. This pilot program is for eligible liquor delivery service providers to enter into an agreement with LCBO to use LCBO’s trademark, list a selection of products on their On-Demand Delivery platforms, and share data.
Our Doing Business with LCBO website has been updated with the information on the pilot program and how to apply.
This is a positive step forward in LCBO’s roadmap to meeting customers where, when, and how they want to shop with us.
